Winter Dinner

Wed, March 12 @ 6 pm

Coppola’s, Hyde Park

**Please note this was postponed from Feb 5

Please join us for our annual winter dinner at Coppola's for some great food and guest speaker Mike Monastero. Members and non members are welcome. Social hour begins at 6:00 PM, where we have the opportunity to mingle with new and old friends and enjoy drinks from the cash bar. Following welcome remarks from our club president, starting at 6:45 pm, dinner will be served. It will include an antipasto salad, a choice of three entrees, dessert, soft drinks, coffee & tea. The complete menu can be found on the here.. Dinner is $39. RSVP by March 5 with entrée selection at the MHBC store

Following dinner, Mike Monastero. will talk about how cyclists can enjoy their riding more. Mike is a bike shop owner (Babylon LI) and professional bike fitter with over 30 years experience. For a synopsis of what will be discussed click this link.

Also, Jeff Saffir, MHBC President, and a few board members will discuss plans for the upcoming riding season.

Spring Club Trip to Kutztown, PA

The MHBC is offering another opportunity to ride together this year in an area outside the Hudson Valley. For the Spring of 2025, we’ve decided to visit Kutztown, Pennsylvania. We will be on lightly traveled roads that different fundraiser rides use for their routes. While the area is not flat, we will pass scenic views of the farms, orchards, vineyards, etc.

For those who won’t be cycling, there are many of points of interest, such as museums, colleges, hiking trails, and shopping.:

Outdoor/adventure: Snorkel River Tubing Adventures, guided kayak/canoe trips on Schulkill river, Dorney Park and Wildwater Kingdom.
History/culture: Old Spokes Car Museum, Berks History Center, Mid-Atlantic Air Museum, Goggleworks Center for the Arts
Wine tasting: Folino Estate, SetterRidge
Miscellaneous: Rodale Farm Institute, Wooden Bridge Dry Goods.

There are a couple of lodging options in Kutztown. Our preferred choice is the Hampton Inn , #484-641-8800. Meals will be at local restaurants.

Day #1 – Arrive. Some folks may want to go for a short ride.
Days #2 & #3 - Ride
Day #4 – short ride then return home

Finger Lakes Club Trip

Sept 25 - Sept 30

Ride in the beautiful Finger Lakes area

Thursday-Sunday: . Ithaca, sitting at the foot of Cayuga Lake, is home to Cornell University and its historic famed campus, Ithaca College, as well as a host of beautiful waterfalls and gorges.
Sunday-Tuesday: Auburn add-on, explores another area of the beautiful Finger Lakes. We will ride by Owasco and Skaneateles Lake.

Ride routes will be posted closer to trip dates.

There will also be Ice Cream Socials, including at Cornell's famous Dairy Bar!

This trip is co-listed with the New York Cycle Club (NYCC). Meet new friends, renew old friendships!
