Since its inception, MHBC members have enthusiastically supported the Ride for Mental Health, a two-day event outside of New Paltz. The proceeds raised are donated to McLean Hospital, a Harvard Medical School affiliate, for the education, research and treatment of mental illness. This year, MHBC is one of the official Bronze level sponsors for the event. Join MHBC Team Captain Ron Gall as either a rider or volunteer or both.

MID HUDSON BICYCLE CLUB ON STRAVA

MHBC has launched a number of affiliated Strava “clubs” (groups) that you can join to receive ride invitations directly in Strava.

Join the MHBC all-encompassing club for general posts.

Join the MHBC focused clubs for posts, ride invitations (including routes) and member interactions:

Please understand that each MHBC focused club has its own special flavor and that each ride leader will articulate their own approach/expectations/guidelines in their ride invitation. For all MHBC rides the following applies:

Always load the route into your phone or GPS unit. It can be very unsafe for riders behind you if you have to suddenly slow down, sit up or turn around to ask for directions as you approach intersections. Knowing the route enhances one’s ability to be predictable. Having the route loaded on your device will enable you to navigate on your own should you get separated from the group.
Carry a tube (or tubeless plugs), and a pump or CO2 for flats. Do not assume someone else will have one for you.
Carry water and snacks/nutrition as appropriate for the ride.
Always carry emergency contact information on your person while riding.

Two versions of the MHBC Jersey are available

Both the newest, 2022 club jersey and the older, 2018 club jersey are available for purchase through the club website info section. Various styles are available on the MHBC website.

New Rail Trail in Dutchess County

The Northside Line has opened for biking and walking off of the Dutchess Rail Trail.

Club Membership

Riders are welcome to join the club on their first ride as our guest. If you enjoy the club, we ask that you become a member for subsequent rides and events. Membership link

A special shout out to the organizers of the following events:

The 3 Ring Century held on May 6, organized by Jeff Saffir & crew had a good turn out. It was a fun day & several riders completed all 3 rings for a total of 100 miles.
The Spring Fling Road event was held on May 7 at Majestic Park, organized by Jason Klock. It was attended by 44 people who enjoyed the great weather, routes & lunch.
The multi level rides from Twin Star Orchards, New Paltz was held on May 13, organized by Ron Gall & Jason Klock. There were approximately 50 riders for A, B, C+ & C level rides. As usual, the routes were wonderful & the orchard was a nice spot for post riding socializing.
Also, much appreciation goes to all the ride leaders who help to make these events happen.
