MHBC TRIP – FINGER LAKES OCTOBER 12-15, 2023 SAVE THE DATES!The MHBC has another opportunity to ride together this year in an area outside the Hudson Valley. For the Fall of 2023, we have decided to visit New York state’s Finger Lakes region. Several of us visited the area Oct. 2022, to explore the suitability for a club cycling trip. We found beautiful quaint towns, stunning lakes with breath-taking vistas. We cycled past lovely farms, orchards, and vineyards. We curated several routes and enjoyed well maintained roads with wide, paved shoulders and low traffic. We were able to plan our day so as to avoid challenging climbs. There are plenty of opportunities to stop for ice cream/snacks at wineries, cideries, and grocery stores. Schedule: ● Thurs, Oct 12 – Arrive. Some folks may want to go for a short ride. ● Days Fri, Oct 13 & Sat, Oct 14 - Ride ● Day Sun, Oct 15 - short ride then return home Our base hotel is the Best Western in Hammondsport, NY. Ideally, we hope the group will stay at the same hotel to help simplify logistics for meals and socializing. However, riders must make their own accommodation reservations and are free to select whatever lodging is preferred. Meals will be at local restaurants. Rides: Each day offers route options ranging from about 25 to 60 miles, suitable for all rider levels . The routes also allow you to skip sections if you want.
