November 2025

The Fall Round up was held on Saturday, Nov 1 in Wallkill. Close to 60 people attended to enjoy the well planned routes and delicious lunch. The event concluded with the annual board election. The board welcomes new members Matt Mahoney and Robert Schuttinger.

A huge thank you to Jason Klock for the securing the venue, designing the routes, ordering the food and setting everything up, Great job!!

Board membership for 2026

The board would like to express our deep gratitude to both Ron Gall and Ron Wechsler for their service on the club board.

Ron Gall is stepping down as Vice President and taking a board position as member at large. Ron joined the club in 1983 and has held the position of Vice President several times over the years. He has been the current Vice President since 2022. His duties as vice president have included maintaining our membership lists, Facebook page administrator, planning the annual winter dinner, yearly calendar planning, and responding to general email inquiries.

Ron Wechsler is stepping down as member at large. He was instrumental with planning the joint cycling weekend to the Finger Lakes with the New York Cycle Club. He had a major bicycling accident this year which cut his riding season short. We wish Ron the best in his continued recovery and look forward to seeing him on the road next year.

Ride Leader Incentive Program

Big thanks to all Ride Leaders! Our 2025 ride season offered 432 diverse rides. This was the most number of rides in our 60 year history!

To thank our Ride Leaders, we are giving a credit voucher to purchase items in the club's Pactimo store or for the new 60th Anniversary Jersey.

All ride leaders who have lead 5 rides or more should have received an email asking preference on which store they would like a credit for. Due date for this response is November 25th. A second email will be sent with a one-time code for the store that was selected. If no selection response was sent, you will receive a code to the Pactimo store which has a full range of gear option.

If you have NOT received the email described above, please let me know.

The credit will be based on all rides posted, excluding cancellations, in the time period of January to November 2nd of 2025.

All orders must be placed by December, 23rd, 2025

Here's the credits amounts based on rides

Lead 5 - 9 rides = $30 store credit

Lead 10 - 14 rides = $70 store credit

Lead 15 - 19 rides = $100 store credit

Lead 20 or more rides = $150 store credit

Anniversary Jersey

To start the anniversary celebration, the MHBC a is offering a special edition 60th Anniversary Jersey at a special anniversary price of just $60… to match the 60 years the club has been around building the cycling community in the Mid Hudson Valley! This is a limited run of specially designed jerseys at a very special price to all MHBC members and friends. You have until January 15, 2026 to order at this introductory price. After this date, there will be a significant price increase. Click here for all the details.

To ensure members have a chance to try on a jersey before ordering Vie 13 Kustom Apparel has supplied jersey sizing samples which will be available at bike shops across the Hudson Valley.

Mid Winter 60th Anniversary Dinner

Wed, March 11

Plan to join the MHBC for a special mid winter dinner to kick off the anniversary year celebration. It will be held on Wednesday, March 11 at Coppola’s in Hyde Park. The guest speaker is Anne Savage, executive director of the New York State Bicycle Coalition. More details to follow and will be posted on the club calendar, the teamup app and in subsequent newsletters.

C Rides Subcommittee members needed!

Virtual meeting Wed, Dec 3 @ 7 pm

One of the club's goals for this year is to build the C rides program for next year to increase both the number and variety of rides. If you're a club member with ideas, energy, or enthusiasm we're organizing a subcommittee for this winter to explore ideas, I would love to have you join. The committee will meet 3 or 4 times, virtually, for about an hour each meeting with the purpose of creating an actionable plan to build the C rides in the upcoming season.

For those who would like to be involved or just join the meeting to find out more, please attend our first upcoming meeting. It is scheduled for December 3rd at 7:00. The Zoom link can be found on the MHBC calendar, the Teamup app or here.

Updating your MHBC membership account

Any changes to your membership information can be done by signing into your account using the unique user name and password you selected when initially signing up for membership. In the account go to the subscriptions tab to make any changes. For credit card updates in the subscription tab select payment method. Do not go to the payment tab to do this. Any questions can be sent to mhbc.webtech@gmail.com.
