60th Anniversary Winter Dinner

We are thrilled to invite you to our annual Winter Dinner Social, which this year marks the official start of our 60th Anniversary celebration!  . Please join us for an evening of connection and camaraderie.  This is the perfect opportunity to take a mid-winter break, catch up with fellow members—both new faces and longtime friends—and share our excitement for the season ahead Every attendee will receive a commemorative 60th Anniversary gift, and we will be awarding door prize drawings throughout the evening. We look forward to seeing you.

The evening begins at 6:00 PM with a Social Hour (cash bar available). This is your chance to catch up, share ride stories, and discuss ideas for the upcoming season. Next, our club president, Jeff Saffir will share his opening remarks. Following dinner, we are honored to welcome our distinguished guest speaker, Anne Savage, Executive Director of the New York Bicycling Coalition.

Anne will share a powerful look at how 2026 is shaping up for cyclists across New York State. With e-bike use skyrocketing, active transportation reshaping how people move, and critical policies in play at local, state, and federal levels, this is truly a pivotal moment for cycling advocacy. Join us to learn how key initiatives are driving change, and how bike clubs like ours can best advocate for safer, better cycling for all.

This winter, the club has been busy getting ready for an awesome 2026 riding season. Part of the preparation includes the work of a dedicated group of C riders and board members who have formed a committee to build our program.

Some of our accomplishments to date include:

• Determining and defining factors that make a great C ride for most participants.

• Creating and implementing plans to increase ride participation. 

A few actions already completed include:

• 1) Collecting and creating several links to C rides, making it easier for leaders to offer great rides.

• 2) Posting several C rides on calendar already so our riders can plan to join.

• 4/23 - C 23 Rhinebeck-Red Hook

• 4/30 - C 22 Ashokan Rail Trail

• 5/28 - C 20 Hurley Mountain/Lucas Ave

• 6/25 - C 20 Farmland Tour or C30 Farmland tour with stop at Otto’s deli

• 7/25 - C18 Saugerties to High Falls or C30 Saugerties to Palenville with stop at Circle W deli

• 8/20 - C36 TWP to Hopewell Junction and return (rail trail ride)

• 9/24 - C22/32 Hudson to Kinderhook

• 10/22 - Ashokan Rail Trail

The board also appreciates the leaders who are leading or setting up Zwift rides during the winter months.  This is a valuable tool that many riders are using to keep fitness levels during the off season.  Thank you to Jeff D. - 3, Dave B. - 2, and Charles V. - 1.
